Web first, so most members skip the app store cut.
Members who join on your website pay through your own Stripe account, then sign in to the app with the same account, so there’s no app store commission on them. Members who’d rather subscribe in the app can, through the App Store or Google Play; Apple and Google take their commission on those sales, and either way unlocks the same membership.
The developer accounts are in your name: Apple charges US$99 a year, and Google a one-off US$25.

- Do I need an app to launch?
- No. Most creators launch on the website first. It works on every phone, and you can add the app when your members start asking for it.
- Will the app be under my name?
- Yes. It’s listed in the App Store and Google Play under your own developer accounts, with your name, icon and screenshots.
- Do Apple and Google take a cut of my memberships?
- Only on subscriptions bought inside the app. Your membership is sold on your website through your own Stripe account, and members who join there simply sign in to the app, with no app store commission. Members who’d rather subscribe in the app can do that through the App Store or Google Play, and Apple and Google take their usual commission on those sales.
